Join us for an immersive one-day workshop focused on natural dyeing with cultivated desert plants such as prickly pear cactus, canaigre root, juniper and sage. Workshop participants will learn how to process raw plant matter into natural dyes and introductory fabric dying techniques. The class will discuss mordanting processes and how to work with both animal and plant fibers. Students will leave with dye samples, lots of notes, and their own hand dyed silk scarf and cotton bandana made in class. No experience necessary. All levels welcome.
