Create your own concrete jewelry! In this one day workshop, students will learn how to cast and color concrete to create durable and unique pendants and bangles. The class will explore introductory mold making methods using silicone and recyclable materials, as well as concrete carving, marbling and inlaying techniques. Students will leave with at least two finished pieces of jewelry.


Instructor Info

Arielle Brackett is a metalsmith, artist and educator based in Portland, Oregon. Arielle received a BFA in Metals at the Oregon College of Art and Craft in 2017 (Portland, Oregon. Brackett has exhibited nationally and internationally at venues such as the Craft Council of British Columbia (Vancouver BC, Canada),
Armory Art Center (West Palm Beach, Florida), Baltimore Jewelry Center (Baltimore, Maryland), Society of Arts and Crafts (Boston, Massachusetts), Arcub Gabroveni (Bucharest, Romania), National Library of Romania (Bucharest, Romania), Winzavod Contemporary Art Center (Moscow, Russia), and at the Museum of Stone-cutting and Jewelry Art (Yekaterinburg, Russia).Her work has received multiple awards including Best in Metals at the Colorado Gallery of the Arts, Best in Metals at the Art Center of Estes Park and the Juror’s Choice Award in Jewelry from CraftForms 2021. Recent residencies include Glean (Portland, Oregon), Sou’wester Art Lodge (Seaview, Washington), and Arteles Art Center (Haukijärvi, Finland).

As a practicing craftswomen, Arielle has continued to challenge herself through large installations, small scale sculpture and jewelry. She is excited to continue to share knowledge, build community, gain skills, collaborate, learn, make, create and grow. Her enthusiasm for artistry motivates her to be a diligent, invested, and a dedicated maker.
