Join us for an immersive one-day workshop focused on natural dyeing with Southern California native and domestic plants such as avocado, olive, coyote brush and toyon . Workshop participants will learn how to process raw plant matter into natural dyes and introductory fabric dying techniques. The class will discuss plant identification, mordanting processes and how to work with both animal and plant fibers. Students will leave with dye samples, lots of notes, and their own hand dyed silk scarf made in class. No experience necessary. Beginners welcome!
