This one day intensive workshop will guide students through perfume formulation using both synthetic aroma molecules and natural fragrance materials. The integration of synthetic and natural materials allows perfumers to expand on the nuanced qualities and conceptual possibilities of scent.

Participants will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of synthetic and lab constructed aroma molecules and high quality botanical essences including essential oils, absolutes, and tinctures. The class will discuss perfume structure, material families, extraction processes, and blending methods. Each student will leave with their own custom blended alcohol based perfume.

No experience required. This workshop is designed to build on our “Natural Perfumery” class as well as be suitable for students with no previous perfume experience.
