1 cup Medjool dates, pitted
1 cup water
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
dash ground cloves
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp add orange or lemon peel?

1 tsp combined lemon juice and peel
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer until the dates are softened (45- 60 min)
Puree in a blender or with an immersion blender.
Check the seasoning and adjust if necessary.
Use syrup immediately or store in an airtight container.

1 cup almond milk (or plant based milk of your choice) (try 3/4 cup?)
